once upon a time, a tomboy in a dress and sweater tights went on an adventure to a mysterious land called akron, ohio. in akron, the boy-girl saw a person emerge from a car (in the parking lot to an establishment of fine indian cuisine), and they both smiled brightly at each other. the boy-girl thought, "i want this person to like me. i want it so bad. because i am pretty sure i like this person immensly and it would break me into pieces if that feeling weren't mutual."
well, that person DID like the boy-girl, and the boy-girl continued to like that person more and more. they went on adventures together, touring park benches, goofing around in thrift stores, taking car trips, dancing, wearing rain pants, reading eye charts, laughing, crying, loving, breathing, stretching, canoodling, shivering, sweating... their lives being shared together became so normal to the boy-girl that the boy-girl no longer showed the same enthusiasm as in the beginning, and this made the person sad, thinking the boy-girl's feelings were no longer mutual. the boy-girl cried and thought, "how can i be a better lover? how can i express better and make the person feel as loved as i do? how i can i show the person how much they mean to me?"
the boy-girl thought and thought. all day and all night the boy-girl thought. the boy-girl thought so much that the thinking consumed the boy-girl's time and energy until there was none left for loving the person. the boy-girl wondered how they could start fresh and new without losing all the beautiful things they had shared.
the boy-girl was going to move into a new apartment, so the boy-girl decided that a new place to live would be a good opportunity for new creation. the boy-girl thought about all the projects that the person and the boy-girl could create together, and this thought was so exciting. "if only it could happen right now!" the boy-girl thought, sadly. "what about now?"
then, the boy-girl had an idea. the boy-girl had not been expressing artistically for quite some time, and this was the boy-girl's medicine. the boy-girl realized that sometimes two problems can be taken care of in one beautiful solution. the boy-girl decided to start creating comic strip drawings with stories, and the comic strips would be all about the boy-girl and the person. the boy-girl decided to call the person "kris".
this made the boy-girl very happy. the boy-girl imagined drawings of doing so many things with kris, and every imagined drawing was so exciting and beautiful. the boy-girl would make all of these drawings just for kris. the boy-girl would take every unspoken thought that consumed the boy-girl's mind and numbed the boy-girl's speech and pour it out onto paper for kris, each time bringing kris deeper into the boy-girl's mind and heart.
the boy-girl loved kris and wanted kris to know so every second of the day.
the boy-girl smiled at this thought and said, "how fortunate i am that i have such a beautiful reason to create art. thank you, kris! thank you, thank you, thank you."
the boy-girl drew until a crack emerged in the boy-girl's hand, and it spread and spread each time the boy-girl drew for kris, until the crack branched out all over the boy-girl's body. one day, kris looked at the boy-girl, with the cracks all over, and kissed the boy-girl with all the love that kris had. with that kiss, the cracks spread to their final limits and a layer of armor shattered from the boy-girl's body and spread all over the floor. the boy-girl stood in front of kris, naked and new, and smiled. "let's sweep this up and make a mosaic table with it!" the boy-girl said, and kris smiled.
and the boy-girl and kris lived happily ever after.
